Five Reasons My Baby Isn’t a Baby Anymore

Posted by on March 29, 2013
  1. He can dress and undress himself.  For a couple weeks now he has already taken his jammies off and dressed himself for the day when I’ve gone to get him up.  If he could change his own diaper he’d be set (thank the Lord he hasn’t attempted that).
  2. He can put his own shoes and coat on.  This is such a nice thing when I’m trying to get 5 kids out the door.
  3. He’s almost as good as the five year-old at using a fork and spoon.  He actually prefers using utensils and sometimes has to be convinced he doesn’t need them when eating finger food.
  4. He has very definite ideas about what he does/doesn’t want which he communicates fairly well.  Ok, so maybe most people outside our family wouldn’t have a clue what he is saying, but it’s getting clearer all the time.
  5. He loves helping around the house and I am amazed at what he is capable of doing.  Here’s hoping he keeps the jump-right-in-and-help attitude.
