FOR TODAY September 9, 2013

Outside my window… the dampness of the morning is burning off.  We’ve been having some beautiful mornings with afternoon/evening storms.  I’m grateful for all the extra moisture we’ve been getting after drought conditions for so long, but praying for all our friends who have been affected by overwhelming amounts of rain.

I am thankful… for Scott’s dad, brother-in-law and nephew being able to come for the weekend and help Scott answer some questions and do some planning regarding the fixing/remodeling of our soon-to-be dorm/conference building.

I am creating…  waiting for the roll of pattern paper I ordered to arrive.

I am hearing… kids playing outside.

In the kitchen… I am smelling banana bread baking.

From the school room… the history notebooks I made for each of the kids has made history so much easier and more enjoyable for all of us this year; well worth the time I put into making them.  Thanks to Stacey at layeredsoul.com for the idea!

In the garden… I really need to harvest some basil, but I want to get some pine nuts first to make pesto.  I read a post about mixing basil with butter instead of oil to freeze it and am wondering about making a pesto butter since my primary use of pesto is on grilled cheese sandwiches.

One of my favorite things…  the freshness of cooler mornings as we approach fall.

A few plans for the rest of the week:  first doctor appointment for baby stuff this Thursday.

A peek into our day…
