FOR TODAY <\/strong><\/p>\n

Looking out my window<\/strong>… it has been a beautiful day! Lots of warm sunshine (we got up into the upper 60s today) and a nice breeze. We\u2019ve enjoyed spending most of the day outside.<\/p>\n

I am thankful\u2026 <\/strong>that three of my older kids have found jobs for the summer.\u00a0 Matthew will be working as a flagger for DOT, Lydia is going to be helping in the deli at the grocery store, and Caleb will be taking over from Matthew in cleaning the radio station.<\/p>\n

I am thinking\u2026<\/strong> about how the rhythm of our family changes as the kids get older.<\/p>\n

One of my favorite things\u2026 <\/strong>warm, sunny spring days. The mosquitos aren\u2019t bad yet and it feels sooo good to be outside after such a long winter.<\/p>\n

I am creating \u2026 <\/strong>curtains for Scott\u2019s engineering area at the radio station. Nineteen years after the station was built and they\u2019re finally getting made. We found some fun, engineering-related fabric prints for them.<\/p>\n

I am hearing\u2026 <\/strong>5pm – the dryer running, Kara typing\/clicking away at her computer, the occasional child\u2019s voice floating in through the open windows.<\/p>\n

In the kitchen\u2026<\/strong> I tried my hand at making cheeseballs for the graduation reception.\u00a0 They turned out quite well. The three kinds I tried were: garlic and onion, chocolate chip, and dill pickle.<\/p>\n

In the garden\u2026<\/strong> I planted carrots, turned the compost pile, and corralled the kids for yardwork. Since the snow fell before the leaves did last fall, I wasn\u2019t able to rake them up for the compost then.\u00a0 So today we worked on getting that done before grass and weeds hide them all.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

In the school room\u2026<\/strong> one graduated, seven kids to go. Whew! All except one child are done with school for the year. I\u2019ve also made a good dent in planning and collecting curriculum for next year.<\/p>\n
